  • MFA in Dance, University of Washington, BA in English and Spanish, Bates College
  • Performed internationally in the companies of over two dozen choreographers including: Doug Elkins, Kevin Wynn, Sean Curran, Joy Kellman, Ruby Shang, and Eun Me Ahn, as well as repertory work of Mark Morris, Stephen Petronio, Alwin Nikolais and Anna Sokolow
  • Taught workshops and master classes throughout the United States, as well as Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Northern Ireland, France, Spain, Panama and Cuba
  • Served on the faculties of New World School of the Arts in Miami (1998-2000), Bates College, Balettakademien in Stockholm, the Amsterdam Dance Center, the Association of Professional Dancers in Ireland and the Bates Dance Festival, as well as 10 years at DanceSpace Center and Steps in New York City
  • Formed his own company, "Michael Foley Dance", in 1994 touring the United States and Europe
  • Received choroegraphic commissions around the globe from Texas Woman's University, Cornish College of the Arts and d9 Dance Collective in Seattle, Moving Current in Tampa, Steeledance in NYC, Jus de la Vie Dance Company in Sweden, Fluxusdance in Ireland, DoubleTrouble in Paris, Momentum Danza in Panama and DanzAbierta in Cuba, among others.
  • Has been a Co-Director of the Bates Dance Festival/Young Dancers Workshop since 1996
